Globe PPGL Season 3 Grand Finals Winners bags over P400,000 Cash Prizes

Globe PPGL Season 3 Grand Finals Winners bags over P400,000 Cash Prizes

Globe PPGL Season 3 Grand Finals winners from different esports tournament including Arena of Valor, Tekken 7 and League of Legends bags over P400,000 in cash prizes. It was a weekend of nail-biting matches as rivalries and rematches took center stage at the Globe PPGL 2018 Grand Finals. The best teams and fighters from all over the Philippines met at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center for a 2-day competition that saw new Esports kings crowned and 9,000 fans come out to watch it all play out.

In partnership with Mineski Entertainment Group (MET), the event featured the final bouts for:

ARENA OF VALOR

ARENA OF VALOR - Globe PPGL 2018 - Team MaxBox Gaming
Champion: MaxBox Gaming – PHP 50,000

2nd Place: BREN Esports – PHP 25,000
3rd Place: Kimochiii – PHP 12,500
4th Place: Eurasia Superfly - PHP 12,500

TEKKEN 7

TEKKEN 7 - Globe PPGL 2018 - PBE Doujin
Champion: PBE|Doujin – PHP 45,000

2nd Place: PBE|AK – PHP 20,000
3rd Place: ELITE.Jules – PHP 12,000

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS - Globe PPGL 2018 - TNC Pro Team
Champion: TNC Pro Team - PHP 100,00

2nd Place: Mineski – PHP 50,000
3rd Place: Imperium Pro Team – PHP 25,000
4th place: ISC – PHP 25,000

In a stunning upset, Andreij “Doujin” Albar, finally defeated fellow teammate and two-time defending Globe PPGL 2018 Tekken 7 grand champion, Alexandre “AK” Laverez to become this year’s Tekken 7 Champion.

“Keep on fighting and continue practicing. You’re strong. Even though you ended up in second place this time, it doesn’t mean that you’re weak or what. Always think that you’re strong because it’s true,” Doujin told his defeated teammate, who broke down in tears after his defeat, the first he experienced in his entire PPGL career.

It was a weekend of surprise for the Arena of Valor competitors as well. Though MaxBox Gaming is widely considered to be a rookie in the league, they still came away with the top prize for AOV, beating BREN Esports 3-1.

Two stalwarts of the Philippine Esports landscape, TNC Pro Team and Mineski went head to head for the League of Legends crown. Playing late into the night, neither team was willing to give in without a fight to the finish. It was the TNC who ultimately secured the 3-2 victory, claiming their revenge against Mineski and securing the Globe Philippine Pro Gaming League Season 3 championship title.

Razer - SEA Games 2019 Official Esports Partner

Razer Chief Strategy Officer Li Meng Li formally announces that Razer is the official esports partner for the SEA Games 2019.

Razer has announced that they will be the official esports partner for 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2019), an eleven-country international sporting event where esports will be recognized as a medal sport for the first time in history. This is an improvement from 2018 Asian Games in which esports is only recognized as demo sports.

Razer is the world's leading brand in esports, and today supports 18 champion teams with players from 25 countries. Team Razer athletes have won over US$10 million in prize money in the past two years alone. Razer has over 50 million registered users who use its ecosystem of high-performance gaming products and services.

Esports recognized as a medal event

Over the past one year, Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan has led the rally to elevate esports to a recognized medal event at SEA Games 2019. A Razer delegation led by Tan met with the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PhilSGOC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) on multiple occasions to work towards this goal.

Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, and the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PhilSGOC) are bringing esports to the 2019 SEA Games. The region-wide tournament to be hosted by the Philippines in November 2019 marks the first time in history that esports is recognized as a medal sport in a major event. From L-R: SEA Games Esports Adhoc Committee ESNAP President Joebert Yu and NESFP President Alvin Juban; Mayor of Athletes’ Village Arrey Perez; Chef De Mission Monsour Del Rosario; PhilSGOC Executive Director Ramon Suzara; PhilSGOC Chairman Alan Peter Cayetano; Razer Chief Strategy Officer Li Meng Li; SEA Games Federation Executive Committee Chairman Celso Dayrit; TV5 President Vincent “Chot” Reyes; POC Deputy Secretary General Karen Claire Caballero; POC Membership Committee Robert Bachmann; Razer Global Esports Director David Tse.

This announcement marks the latest milestone in Razer's long-running quest to boost the global status of esports. The brand has been a stalwart figure in competitive gaming for more than a decade, establishing a market leading position thanks to the trust placed by the world's top esports athletes in its high-performance hardware.

Today, esports is the entertainment of choice and an aspiration for youth and millennials. There are more than 2.3 billion gamers worldwide, and 71 percent of millennials are proud to call themselves gamers. The global esports audience is expected to reach 276 million by 2022, and esports itself is projected to be a billion-dollar industry by next year (according to newzoo).

The inclusion of esports as a medal event is an important step in legitimizing esports as a true world-class sporting contest, engaging a new generation of gaming fans.

"The Philippines is the first host country to stage an esports tournament as a medal event. This lends credence to professional gaming as a true world-class sporting contest, as it engages a new generation of gaming fans," said Alan Peter Cayetano, PhilSGOC Chairman. "Razer is a pioneer and a prime mover in esports, and we cannot ask for a better partner in this historic journey," Cayetano added.

Razer to be the official esports partner of SEA Games 2019

As the official esports partner of SEA Games 2019, Razer will draw upon its expertise and experience in esports, as well as its ecosystem of hardware, software and services to support the esports tournament at SEA Games 2019.

This includes facilitating discussions between PhilSGOC and various game publishers to select the games that will be featured at the SEA Games esports tournament. The final line-up of titles to be contested at SEA Games 2019 will be revealed in the next few months.

In addition, Razer will be supporting the final crop of Team Philippines esports athletes who will represent the host country at the finals.

"Esports has been the essence of Razer ever since we were founded, and we have supported countless global events, tournaments, teams, and athletes over the past decade and a half," said Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan. "The sportsmanship and fighting spirit seen in esports is no less than that of other sports, and we've fought hard for its inclusion in an international sporting event like the SEA Games 2019."

A diverse line-up of tournament titles planned

Razer and PhilSGOC are already in talks with some of the world's biggest names in gaming, working towards an exciting roster of titles that will engage fans of all genres.

The first game partner that Razer and PhilSGOC are announcing for the SEA Games 2019 is Moonton, the publisher behind the hugely popular title Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Justin Yuan, CEO and co-founder of Moonton Games, said, "SEA Games 2019 is the perfect platform to propel Mobile Legends: Bang Bang into the big leagues, given our strong user base here as well as the region's fast-growing youth and millennial population. Razer's role as the official esports partner gives us confidence that the tournament will be nothing short of phenomenal. We look forward to seeing Southeast Asia's best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players face off against each other."

Other game partners will be announced in due course. Game publishers, aspiring athletes, and everyone in the community are encouraged to rise to the occasion and play their part in this unprecedented international esports event. Mislatel, The Official Third Telco in the Philippines - What To Expect

Mislatel, The Official Third Telco in the Philippines - What To Expect

Mislatel was declared by National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) as the official third telco in the country. The Confirmation Order (Resolution) declaring Mislatel as the New Major Player was issued on November 19, 2018, 12 days after the bid documents were opened.

According to the NTC, the Mislatel consortium, comprised of Udenna Corporation, Chelsea Holdings, and China Telecom, passed the Document Verification Phase conducted by the NMP Selection Committee that merited them for the final confirmation from the NTC En Banc.

The resolution was signed by NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba, Deputy Commissioners Edgardo Cabarios, and Delilah Deles, and Oversight Committee chair Eliseo Rio Jr.

Mislatel (Mindanao Islamic Telephone Company Inc.) was the only qualified bidder and only third telco aspirant to submit complete requirements which secured them the provisional 3rd telco rights on Nov. 7, 2018. Sear Telecom—the consortium of TierOne Communications International and Chavit Singson-led LCS Group of Companies—was disqualified for not having the Php700-million Participation Security. While, Philippine Telegraph & Telephone Corp. (PT&T) was also disqualified, for not submitting a Certificate of Technical Capability.

Mislatel Committed Speed

Mislatel consortium promised to provide 27 Mbps of minimum average broadband speed on its first year and 55 Mbps on the next four years, bringing fast internet speed close to that in Singapore. The new major player has also devoted to achieve 84.01% nationwide coverage before the end of its five-year commitment period.

Service Roll Out Plan

China Telecom, one of Mislatel's parter, and DICT signed a joint letter of intent on Nov. 20 for a feasibility study in using the government's cable landing stations and connect it to the China Telecom's international submarine cable. The international submarine broadband infrastructure will connect the country to Hong Kong and the United States which offer cheaper rates. The facility uses optical fiber (fiber optics) technology to carry signal and digital data including telephone and internet traffic by way of a submarine cable stretching across the oceans.

Department of Information and Communications Technology acting Secretary Eliseo Rio said the facility would also be available to other telcos.

Mislatel Consortium said it would spend around P250 billion in infrastructure and service rollout during the five-year period.

The NTC has given Mislatel 90 days or 3 months to send the required documents including organizational structure, roll out plan, and 24 billion performance security bond.

The consortium stands to lose P24 billion and the allocated frequencies if it fails to fulfill its commitments, DICT acting Secretary Eliseo Rio had said.

"For our rollout, that will depend on who will be our partners... Ang uunahin namin po is 'yung mobile services if we are able to partner for example the tower sharing or magpa-partner kami sa local broadband companies," Mislatel spokesperson Atty. Adel Tamano said.

Partnership with Other Telcos

The DICT expects Mislatel to deliver on its commitments through establishing partnerships with small players.

"One of the best ways Mislatel can comply with its commitments is to use all existing facilities and services of the other small players. The NMP will spur business for small telcos and last mile links like CATV operators," according to Rio.

Mislatel Consortium is also open for possible partnerships with other telecommunications companies, including Globe Telecom and PLDT-Smart, and other small players and telcos.

"We invite the other telco companies even Globe and Smart to work with us. If they work with us even bidders who lost like PT&T or those who did not to decide to bid like Converge kung papagamit nila yung ibang telecom facilities nila sa amin and we can use their backbone, which we can use the towers of Globe and Smart, mas maaga nating ma-rollout mas maaga tayo magkakaroon ng telco services. (We invite the other telco companies even Globe and Smart to work with us. If they work with us even bidders who lost like PT&T or those who did not to decide to bid like Converge if they shared their other telecom facilities to use and we can use their backbone, which we can use the towers of Globe and Smart, we will be able to rollout earlier. 10. You can achieve high damage - especially in late game. Most players can 1v1 MVP bosses, some can do 1 hit.

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love Leveling Tips and Game Guide

The following Ragnarok Eternal Love guide will help you level up fast and familiarize the game mechanics.

1. Prioritize Quests - in order to level up faster, prioritize doing quest. However, don't just take all the quest available. Prioritize the ones with the red exclamation point as those are your Main Quests especially when you first create a character, just follow the red quest and you'll be set until your job changed at level 10. In addition, you can also do a daily Mission Board Quests. The mission board can be found in every major city. There are a 10 available quests daily which refreshes every 6:00 AM (GMT+8 Philippines Time). Also take note of the Minstrel Quests. The Prontera Minstrel can be found in the west area of Prontera, the Minstrel will ask you to get him items and kill monsters in exchange for EXP, zeny and items. Finally at level 22, the Monster Resistance Quests will become available. You can get it from the Messenger Monster Watcher NPC near the mission board. With this quest, you will get 10x EXP from killing monsters up until a certain amount. Note that the quest can be stackable up to 6 times which means players can stack up to three days worth of exp threshold.

2. Create a party - whether you're playing with friends or have met some new ones in-game. Having a party will greatly lessen the time needed to complete certain quests and will help boost leveling up. To create a party, just tap/click on a friend in your friends lists and invite them to join the party. Remember, you have to be on the same channel to be in a party. You can check your current channel in the upper right corner of your screen, if you're not in the same channel you can change your channel in Izlude. At first, you have to walk to Izlude as it's not initially available in the Kafra teleport when you first start in the game. Izlude is located southeast of Prontera. And once you are in Izlude, go to the channel teleporter and input your desired channel number. Once in a party, you share experience and loot, but more importantly you can help each other a lot in quest. Tip, you can click follow if you have a party leader that you want to follow around the map. If Auto Attack is enabled you will also attack the monster they're attacking.

3. Use Auto-Attack setting - In Ragnarok mobile, you don't have to manually attack each monster compared to PC version Ragnarok Online wherein you have to click and attack each monster which can get very tiring and grinding, resorting for some players to use bots just to automate the attacks. Thankfully in mobile version, there's no need for bots, the Auto-Attack setting is already part of the game. To set up the Auto-Attack setting, just click the 'Auto' button in the lower portion of the screen and select a monster you'd like to target. Furthermore, you can customize your Auto-Attack skills, just go to 'More' menu in the upper right part of the screen, select 'Skills', and long press and drag the skills you would like to use into Auto skill slot.

4. Level Up your Skills and Attributes - for every job level you gain, you get a skill point which you can use to level up skills. Just go to 'More' menu then Skills, now you can select the skill you would like to level up. Generally, the next level of a certain skill will have better stats or would deal more damage. Aside from skills, you can also get attribute points every time you level up. To view the attributes, click your photo then click the second tab. There are six attributes to level up: Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, Dexterity and Luck. As a newbie tip, you can follow recommended 'Builds' of the job that you have, just click on 'Builds' then you can select from the different build presets. This will give you an idea which attributes are best for your job. Don't worry about experimenting at this point because you will get a reset item once you change to your second job, by then you would have more experience and knowledge about your job class, and would be more serious and careful in making your perfect build.

5. Warping - teleport from one place to another. You currently have three choices for teleport or transport. (1) Avail of Kafra services, just go to your nearest 'Kafra Staff' NPC which is usually around major cities (in the map, find the headband logo). The Kafra can teleport you to places you already visited and saved, so make sure to talk to the Kafra or Ariel to save your location for each new place you visit. The Kafra can also save your warp point - by selecting 'Saving Service'. (2) Upon saving your warp point, you can use the Butterfly Wing item to transport to that saved point. So even if you are in a different map, you can always go back to the city warp point using the Butterfly Wing. (3) You can also use the Fly Wing. The Fly wing will teleport you to a random section of the map. Some people use this as a farming tool to find monsters in other sections of the map, while others use it to quickly navigate the map but then again this is random, so if you want to go to a certain spot it's all just luck. Both the Fly Wing and the Butterfly Wing can be bought from the Item Shop. Also, you can put the Fly wing or any other consumable items in the quick access bar by opening your bag then the arrow at the bottom right, you can then drag or rearrange the items in the quick access bar.

6. Trading and Exchange - this is the transfer of item from one person to another. In this mobile version, there's no direct player to player trade, unlike in PC version. Only merchants can sell using their shops. However, there is an Exchange Function in the game. You can find the Exchange NPC near the mission board. Here you can sell your loots or buy items from other players. You cannot set a price, it will automatically be determined by the system. If you buy an item, check the Trade history to claim it. If you need a certain loot, it's an option to check the market for it.

7. Item Storage - to store your items, go to the nearest Kafra and select Stash Service. It will cost you 99 zeny to unlock each time, you can then drag the items from your backpack to the storage. Note that you can also share your stash to other characters within your account but you have to be level 40 before you can use the shared stash.

8. Eat some Warm Dish - some quests will give out the Warm Dish item. This will automatically regen a set amount of HP and SP. You can check the remaining amounts at the upper left side of the screen below your photo. This is very helpful especially when you are farming as you don't have to spam tap potions. You can purchase this from the Food Shop for 5000 zeny.

9. Maximize the Combat Time - you have to be mindful of your Combat Time. You can check your combat time under 'More' menu then Game Settings. Every day you will get 300 minutes of Combat Time. If you exceed the 300 minutes, the EXP and item drop rate will become lower. However, you can increase your daily Combat Time by 60 minutes everyday if you listen to music at the Prontera South Field. You can check the additional Combat Time in the Settings. Also, if you want to increase experience and drop rate, you can use the Lightning Chain. However, it will also consume Combat Time much faster. In order to maximize your experience when farming always be mindful of your remaining Combat Time.

10. Take screenshots of unique landmarks and monsters - to take screenshot, there's a camera under 'More' menu in the upper right corner of the screen. As you go along different maps, make it a habit to take photos of unique landmarks and monsters, the reason is that these photos will count towards your Adventure Book level. Every time your adventurer title is promoted, attributes will be greatly improved and new adventure skills will be unlocked.

PLDT, Smart 5G to launch in Clark, Pampanga

PLDT, Smart 5G to launch in Clark City, Pampanga

Leading Philippine telco, PLDT-Smart, together with Swedish telecom company Ericsson will launch 5G cell site in Clark, Pampanga this November 2018. Clark Freeport Zone will be the country's first Smart 5G City, which will bring the city 5G equipped together with the increased 4G LTE roll-out.

Clark Smart 5G City

"We are happy to be working with CDC in building the city of the future, equipped with smart services and powered by 5G infrastructure, right here in Pampanga. This will benefit not only Clark but the country as well by demonstrating that we are in step with the rest of the world in adopting advanced intelligent technologies," said PLDT and Smart Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan.

5G is the next generation in wireless Internet connectivity, and is up to 20 times faster than current 4G connectivity. 5G networks will improve the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology for Filipinos, allowing for a smarter homes and community.

PLDT has already started 5G-compatible radio equipment across its network of 2,000 5G-ready sites nationwide and 221,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable.

How fast is Smart 5G?

5G network expected minimum standard speed is 100 MBps, max at around 2.5 GBps and have a latency (ping) that's not more than 1 ms (millisecond).

According to Ookla's Speedtest during Q1-Q2 2018 (January-June), Smart's average 4G LTE speed is 14.98 MBps. That means 5G is at least around 20 times faster!

So far, Smart's 5G tests have achieved speeds of around 312 Megabytes per second.

Smart is testing 5G network since 2016

Smart has been testing 5G since 2016, when it achieved speeds of 2.5 Gigabits per second (Gbps) using 100 MHz with latency of just 1 millisecond over a 'live' network—the first in the Philippines.

The company launched in June 2018 its 5G Technolab, a facility focusing on research and development, standardization, and testing of 5G wireless broadband technologies and services.

In August 2018, Smart and Ericsson signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to launch the first 5G pilot network by the first half of 2019.

In improving their network and implementing the 5G technology, PLDT is spending as much as P58 billion this year for capital expenditures, a historic amount for the telco giant.

Mislatel-China Telecom selected as provisional 3rd telco

Mislatel-China Telecom selected as provisional 3rd telco

Mislatel Consortium, comprised of Dennis Uy's Udenna Corp. based in Davao and its logistics arm, Chelsea Logistics Holdings, partnered with the state-owned China Telecom, has been selected by the NTC as the provisional third New Major Player (NMP).

Mindanao Islamic Telephone Company or Mislatel succeed the selection process after undergoing a series of evaluations on their submitted documents which demonstrated their technical and financial capability to deliver telco services in the country in competition with existing players PLDT-Smart and Globe Telecom.

Once Mislatel is confirmed as a new major player, its immediate priority is to prepare and consolidate the required resources to "provide the best telecommunications services that Filipinos have been aspiring for", as the joint venture telco said.

Mislatel will still undergo a document verification phase within three calendar days by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

The new telco player was selected through its highest committed level of service based on the following criteria: national coverage, Internet speed and capital expenditures.

Mislatel Criteria - Speed, Coverage, Rating

The other two bidders, Sear Telecom and PT&T were disqualified because their documents were rendered incomplete by the NTC.

Sear Telecommunications of Tier One Communications and LCS Group of Companies, led by former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson, was disqualified because the aspiring telco failed to submit the required PHP700 million performance security to qualify as a third telco player.

Philippine Telephone and Telegraph Corporation (PT&T), the only Philippine-based telco, was also disqualified after it failed to show a certification of technical capability that would show that it has the experience on the delivery and operations of telco services for the last 10 years on a national scale.

The disqualified bidders have three days to file their motions for reconsideration.

Mislatel, Sear Telecom and PT&T are the groups that have filed their bidding documents when the deadline for the submission of bids which started on October 8 lapsed at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Among the companies that earlier expressed its interest to bid for the third major telco player are Now Telecom, Telenor ASA Group, Mobitel Holdings GmbH, Converge ICT (supposed to partner with South Korea's KT Corp.), AMA Telecommunications, and an undisclosed bidder.

The selection of the third telco player was the culmination of an initiative which was started on November last year when President Rodrigo Duterte pushed for the entry of a new telco firm in the country that can compete with the existing duopoly (Smart and Globe) in providing faster and affordable Internet services to the public.
